New Board Member

We would like to introduce you to our new board member Aurea Lawson. Aurea grew up in Oklahoma and decided to come to California in 2014 to pursue career opportunities.

Aurea always had it in her heart to help others, having volunteered at the children’s museum in Oklahoma, as well participating in other volunteer opportunities helping those in need . We were so lucky to meet Aurea at one of our Friends of VNOC events at the Crossing Church in Costa Mesa., which we do on a monthly basis. She found Volunteer Network OC by googling Volunteer Opportunities in Orange County. We are grateful to have Aurea as part of our team and look forward to working with her.

Aurea has worked for Vital Link for 5 years. Vital Link provides hands-on, career exploration experiences for high school students, helping them carve out their own unique career path. What a great organization. They have a Student Leadership Summit coming up on November 30 and are looking for volunteers for the following shifts:
8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
12 – 4 PM
The volunteers would assist with hands-on workshops, guiding students to the panel sessions, and checking in with students. Attached is the industry flyer that will share a bit more details about the event and you can register your volunteer group if you are interested!
