We are proud to introduce our new board member, Darrick Garcia. Darrick brings to Volunteer Network OC a wealth of experience and wisdom that will help us achieve our goals to serve disadvantaged members of our community and to encourage getting involved through charitable work. We believe an active community that is compassionate and caring is a better place to live. Darrick shares our vision and is ready to make it a reality.
Darrick is now retired, but he spent 16 years as a special education teacher in Orange County. He later became a principal and then the assistant superintendent at the district offices in Orange County and San Bernardino counties.
Upon retiring, Darrick decided to give back to the Orange County community. His long-term goal is to use his HR experience to assist disadvantaged K-12 students. His immediate goal, however, is to explore the various ways individuals and organizations reach out to help others. What better platform than Volunteer Network OC to get involved in a multitude of projects to see where a person can make the greatest impact?
Darrick was born and raised in Orange County and is married to Holly. They have two adult children, Jack and Isabella.
Lastly, Darrick has a great heart which is the main characteristic of a valuable member of our board. Welcome to the VNOC team, Darrick. We look forward to working with you.
